Name:
Thomas Moore
Age:
43
Occupation:
ICT/Data Comms. Lecturer
Years in Triathlon: 3
Triathlon Highlights or recent performances:
2013 Season – Age group winner – Beast of Browns Bay – Olympic,
not dying of hypothermia in the past 2 years at TTC Causeway Triathlon.
Current Goal:
Complete 70.3 Ironman Budapest – Aug. 2014
Next Year’s Goal:
Wait until 2014 is completed, haven’t thought past Budapest, someone has suggested to 'go big'. Never say never......
Favourite Training Sessions:
Open swim in reservoir on a nice calm summer evening, think that happened once last year.
What made you take up the sport?:
Turning the age of 40, a so called friend suggested that a group of us “do” a triathlon. My reply was, “I cannot swim more than 1 length!!!! '. After a lot of effort / hours in the pool and 6 months later, myself and 1 other of the group completed the Roe Valley Sprint, with what I called a good time, and in front of some creditable athletes. Bug caught and 2012, 2013 and 2014 back for more and more.
Favourite food/drink:
Any open packet of biscuits
Favourite bit of kit/equipment:
Don't laugh, 'orthotic insoles', without them I would be in even more pain at the finish line.
Who do you see as your main rivals?
No one is my rival until I get to the start line and then, as if by magic, everyone is.

If I wasn’t training I would be ....16 stone weight.
